Read the whole paper

Most of the Ledger is open to anyone. A few stories each month are for members: the long investigations that take a reporter off the daily beat for weeks, and the bonus episodes of the podcast where our editors argue about what to cover next.

Membership costs nothing. We ask for an email address so we know who is reading, and so we can tell the trust's board, in numbers, that people in Port Alden want a paper that covers the harbor as closely as City Hall.

What members get

Every members-only story and episode, in full. Transcripts of every podcast episode. A sign-in that works on any device without a password: we email you a link, you open it, you are in.

What we do with your address

We use it to sign you in. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or add it to the newsletter unless you sign up for that separately. To close your account, email the newsroom from the same address and we will delete it.
